<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sizes of an optical scanner, an exposure unit equipped with the optical scanner, and an image forming device by enhancing flexibility of shape and arrangement of the process unit, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner comprises a rotating polygon mirror for scanning a beam from a pre-deflection optical system in the main scanning direction, and two mirrors for focusing the beam scanned by the rotating polygon mirror on an image surface. The optical scanner has a plurality of mirrors for separating the beam by, after a plurality of beams are scanned and reflected from a second mirror on the image surface side, bending only a part of the beams, and a position of the separation performed by the mirrors is such that a position of the separation of the beam whose bending point at the second mirror is farther away in a sub-scanning direction from the deflector among the beams is set close to the second mirror. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
