<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of discharging a printing medium in the shortest time when an abnormality occurs in a fixing section during double-sided printing. <P>SOLUTION: When a fixing error occurs during double-sided printing on a printing medium 113, if a leading edge of the printing medium 113 has already passed a branch part to a double-sided print conveying mechanism 118 and entered the double-sided print conveying mechanism 118, the printing medium is conveyed continuously. If the leading edge of the printing medium 113 is still on the upstream side from the branch part in the conveying direction, the conveying direction at the branch section is switched to a direction toward a discharging stacker 112 and the printing medium 113 is discharged. Thus, the printing medium can be discharged to the outside of the apparatus in the shortest time, without allowing the printing medium to enter the double-sided print conveying mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
