APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING BIOMARKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioinformatic technology related to an apparatus and a method for extracting biomarkers with higher reliability by analyzing toxicity of sequence variation on gene functions.

SOLUTION: The biomarker extraction apparatus which analyzes influence of sequence variation on gene functions and extracts biomarkers causing intractable diseases includes: a pre-processor that analyzes sequences of samples of genes and extracts data of genetic variation mapped to the genes; a toxicity prediction unit that obtains toxicity scores quantifying dysfunctions of the genes based on the data of genetic variation; and a modularization unit that searches for a gene-network submodule where genes with the toxicity scores exceeding a predetermined critical value are densely populated in a gene network.
