The automatic feeder (1) has a reactor (2) for mixing liquid food, while connecting a port of a liquid supply line (9) with an extended line of a feeding station (80) and an associated pump (5). The powder storage containers (11,13) are equipped with powder metering units (71,73) for metering the powder components into the reactor. A balancing unit (7) is connected to the feeder control unit. The level of liquid food in the reactor is continuously measured by a level sensor (4) in fluid communication with reactor and powder containers. An independent claim is included for method for method for monitoring and demand-wise calibration of dosage of several powder components of liquid food.
