The device has a mounting base designed as a housing and fixed at a furniture, and an electrical motor fixed at the mounting base. The motor acts on a sliding door via a toothed wheel arrangement. The arrangement comprises gear elements that are provided in contact with each other, during closing of a furniture part. One of the gear elements is provided in outer contact with the sliding door, according to a pre-determined movement path of the sliding door. The gear elements are designed as rotatable toothed wheels (7, 8), and a linear movable toothed rod (9) that are meshed with the wheels. The toothed wheels are designed as crown wheels.
