A massage mechanism which is small in size, in which the position of treatment is adjustable in the left-right direction, and which can individually massage left and right halves of a person's body. The massage mechanism has a pair of inner and outer treating elements (61a, 61b) arranged so as to correspond to the left or right half of the body of a person to be treated when the upper half of the body is divided into the left and right halves along the backbone, and also has a first motor (80) for driving the treating elements (61a, 61b). The outer treating element (61b) is located outward, with respect to the left-right direction, from the inner treating element (61a) so as to be separated therefrom, and the distance in the left-right direction between the inner and outer treating elements (61a, 61b) can be changed by the motor (80).
