PURPOSE: An organic light emitting device with improved external light extraction efficiency and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to insert a dot pattern layer with a specific refractive index on a first electrode, thereby improving the light emitting efficiency of a device. CONSTITUTION: An organic light emitting device comprises a substrate, a first electrode, a dot pattern(70), an organic layer(62), and a second electrode(63). The first electrode is arranged on the substrate. The dot pattern is arranged on the first electrode and diffracts light while being repeatedly arranged with a constant gap in vertical and horizontal directions. The organic layer and second electrode are successively laminated on the dot pattern. The dot pattern is made of a material with a refractive index of 1.3 to 1.6.
