A sealing clamp for packages made of flexible material, such as sausage skins and bags made of plastics foil, comprises a deformable U-shaped member having a substantially oval cross-section, the major axis of the oval being located in the principal plane of the sealing clamp. Suitable oval cross-sections are an ellipse, Fig. 1, a rhombic with rounded corners (Fig. 3) and a pear shape (Fig. 4). The outer edges of the shanks of clamp may be chamfered at (12, Fig. 2) by upsetting. |
