A multipolar socket comprises an insulating body 1, Fig. 3, having rectangular holes 3 running therethrough and in which are diagonally positioned flat contacts 2 each comprising a claw-shaped part 2a and a soldering tail 2b, the part of the tail projecting from the body being twisted to retain the contact in position. Surrounding the part 2a of each contact is a cavity 6, space being left for the expansion of the legs of part 2a on insertion therebetween of a planar plug pin 5 carried by a body 4, Fig. 4.
