PURPOSE: An electrophoretic display device is provided to minimize a thickness and detect a defect in a sealant. CONSTITUTION: A case(5) comprises a vertical member. A case receives a display panel. The display panel comprises a lower substrate and an upper substrate. A protection film(40) is attached to the display panel and the case. A sealant(30) surrounds an upper surface of the lower substrate, a side of the upper substrate, and a lower surface of the protection film.
