[Also in Division A3] A machine for cutting shoe welt insoles comprises two driving rollers 9, 10 rotatable in opposite directions and at the same angular speed, notches 30, Fig. 4, formed on the conical part of the roller 10 to effect the drive by nipping the edge of the welt 37, Fig. 9, and to effect notching of an edge of the welt, and a cutter 20 having an oblique blade, fixed or vibratory, which serves to make a chamferred cut in the welt to effect total or partial cutting out of the insole 36. The cutter 20 may have associated therewith a blade 25, Fig. 6, for making a cut 35, Fig. 9, in the welt to enable the insole to be separated from the welt. The blade 25 is carried by an oscillating support 24 which is pivoted to a lower member 2, the support 24 being connected by a push-rod (26), Fig. 2 (not shown), to the armature of an electromagnet (27) which is excited periodically so that the blade 25 makes a discontinuous cut. The roller 10 may be heated. A fixed platform 40, Fig. 4, may be disposed downstream of the nip of the rollers 9, 10 and against the welt is applied by means of a pivoted sector 42 so that the welt is laminated and straightened out. In a modification, the machine has two cylindrical driving rollers of which at least one is notched and does not include the cutter 25 so that the machine in one and the same operation can press, chamfer, shape and notch a linear welt (44), Fig. 10 (not shown), disposed with its inner face coated with glue on a sole (45). |
