PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transmitting data in a power line communication are provided to reduce the number of transmission sections according to the kind of transmission traffic on a power line network. CONSTITUTION: A level frame generator(203) generates a level frame which is used for determining priority of data transmission. A controller(201) generates the level frame by the control of the level frame generator in order to includes transmission traffic type information. The controller generates the data frame by control of a data frame generator(204) in order for the data frame to include the level frame.
