An adjustable pocket wrench tool comprising a head (1) provided with an array of two or more, preferably four, peripheral rounded projection/recess configurations (4a to 4d) extending around diametrically opposite sides of the head and are shaped and dimensioned to be gripped by a user, thus eliminating the requirement for a handle. The head further comprises opposed relatively movable jaws (3) defining an adjustable jaw spacing (W) for a workpiece. The spacing between the jaws may be adjusted by a worm gear (Fig 1, 2). Further optional features may include a slideway formed in the head having a hexagonal cross-sectional bore (8) that may house a tool bit (7). The tool may be coupled with a retaining accessory (5), that when retained between the movable jaws, prevents rotation of the wormgear. The retaining accessory may have one or more compartments (5a) to house spare tool bits and may be attachable to a key ring or the like.
