PURPOSE: An antioxidant composition containing hydrolysates of Ruditapes philippinarum is provided to ensure excellent antioxidation and to suppress or treat aging or various diseases. CONSTITUTION: An antioxidant composition contains peptides as an active ingredient, isolated from hydrolysates of Ruditapes philippinarum. The hydrolysate is prepared by dissolving by Ruditapes philippinarum in buffer; a step of adding protease and heating the hydrolysate in hot water; and a step of filtering, concentrating, and drying the hydrolysate. An antioxidant agent and health food contains the composition as an active ingredient.
