The system (1) has a transporting unit (4) guided along a guide rail (2) and provided with a drive (6), which is supplied with energy over a current receiver (16). The receiver stays in active connection with power lines (18, 20) that extend along the guide rail, where the power lines are embedded into the guide rail, so that a mechanical guide and energy tapping are enabled by the guide rail. The guide rail is manufactured from fiber reinforced plastic material or fiber reinforced plastic composite material and formed as a lattice construction with longitudinal profiles (22-28).
