The bearing assembly (1) has housing with axially spaced apart bearing units (4,5) between which bearing unit (6) comprising bearing rings (7,8) is provided. The bearing unit (6) provides radial/axial bearing force between machines. A damping material layer (9',9'',9''') is provided between bearing rings and/or machines. The damping material layer is fixed to axial region between the bearing units (4,5) by using snap rings (11). The damping material layer is fixed to the annular grooves in the bearing rings.
