The packaging container (1) has front and rear container walls (2,3), and side folds (5,6) which are extended in lateral areas between front and rear walls, and shortened at upper ends for forming a side fold-free head region (7). Upper end of each side fold comprises multiple turn-up portions of folded cover piece (10) extending approximately over side fold width. The outside of the cover piece and the outside of a portion of the side-fold are placed on one another, and the mutually facing inner sides of the side fold about half and cover piece are cohesively connected. An independent claim is included for manufacturing method of packaging container.
