Nanostructure comprises (a) self-organizing protein, which is bound to an aptamer or other organic molecule group, where (a) has specific binding properties for a target molecule, and (b) inorganic nanoparticle, which is bound to the self-organizing protein. An independent claim is included for a sensor comprising the self-organizing protein and two different molecules that are suitable for producing a fluorescence or Foster resonance energy transfer (FRET).
