[Also in Division B4] A hand tool, for example a crimping tool, comprises a pair of handles 10 connected to. gether at a pivot 11 and which are pivotally connected to jaw-plates 13 by links 15, tieplates 18 pivotally connected to the jawplates, and die members 22 pivotally connected to the jaw-plates and to the tie-plates. Guide means is provided for the die members in the form of a pin 25 which moves within an arcuate slot 27 in the tie. plates facilitating rectilinear movement of the dies towards and away from each other corresponding to the opening and closing movements of the handles. The arcuate slots 27 may be provided in the tie-plates 18 or alternatively in the die member 22. The die members are pivotally mounted on the jaw plates by pin 23 and may be indexed to permit the use of alternative shaping portions of the die members.</p> |
