<p>The engine has a ferromagnetic piston (1) connected with a crankshaft through a connecting rod (6). The piston is partially surrounded by an electric coil (3). A control device temporarily supplies electrical voltage to the coil to generate a magnetic field such that the coil is pressurized between a respective dead center and a center position of the piston. The control device comprises a signal initiator that temporarily closes an electric circuit comprising the coil based on an angle of rotation of the crankshaft.</p>
