The present invention relates to a method of performing a switching procedure of an eCall device (10) from a first state (ON or OFF) of activity (30) to a second state (ON or OFF) of activity (31 ) whereby details of the switching procedure are preferably stored in a report file (14), said report file (14) is preferably stored in a storage unit (12) which can be part of a database. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an eCall device (10) being adapted for performing a switching procedure from a first state of activity (30) to a second state of activity (31) and relates to a backend unit (11) being adapted for supporting a switching procedure of an eCall device (10) from a first state of activity (30) to a second state of activity (31).
