<p>The mechanism (10) has an electromagnetically controlled clutch (56) e.g. friction clutch, comprising a contact surface (70) integrated with an outer ring (48). A movable element (60) has a ferromagnetic washer (80) arranged opposite and remote from an air gap of a control electromagnet (62). Another contact surface (72) co-operates with the former control surface in coupling position, for rotatably integrating the outer ring and the movable element.
