The dental implant has a lateral recess (10) into which a locking element (8) of an abutment (2) formed from a resilient material is inserted. The locking element is equipped with several latch arms (6) set toward longitudinal axis of the abutment. An expanding element made from metal-free material is introduced to the abutment by frictional engagement. The abutment and/or the expanding element are made from plastic, polyetheretherketone (PEEK), fiber reinforcement polyaryletherketone (PAEK), polyvinyl, polybutylene or polypropylene.
