The arrangement has energy storage (33) i.e. vehicle battery, providing power supply voltage, protecting units (38, 39) including coils (43, 44) and an actuating element that is connected with an anchor, and a controlling unit (40) switching the protecting units. A control device monitors a switching state of one of the protecting units, and a monitoring unit includes a measuring unit to detect a position and/or time dissipation of alteration of the position of the actuating element and/or the anchor. The control device monitors the control of the protecting unit. The measuring unit is selected from capacitive or inductive proximity switches. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring switching an energy source for a power supply of an electric drive.
