The bar fitting has an operating lever (24) at a coupling point (31) that is pivotally connected to a toggle lever (32). An end portion of the operating lever or toggle lever is pivotally mounted on a fixed bearing (30). A drive rod (22) at coupling point is displaced by pivoting movement of the operating lever from a locking position into an unlocking position. The drive rod is not displaced into the locking position, based on the pivotal movement of operating lever from the unlocking position into the locking position. An independent claim is included for driving bar fitting arrangement.
