PURPOSE: An image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to adjust the depth of a 3D image, thereby enhancing the display quality of the 3D image. CONSTITUTION: An image display device divides an input image signal into right eye image data and left eye image data. The device obtains the luminance of the right eye image and the left eye image by analyzing the image data. The device acquires the distance between a screen(110) and a viewer by using a distance measuring sensor. The device adjusts a pixel movement distance between the right eye image and the left eye image based on at least one of the luminance and the viewing distance. The device performs the temporal or spatial partitioning for the depth adjusted right eye image and left eye image.
