The device has a lifting mechanism (9) driven by a motorized drive (7), and coupled with another lifting mechanism (11) by a connection element (12). An adjusting cylinder is pressurized with fluid i.e. air, and is arranged at the latter lifting mechanism. The connection element is connected with a shaft (8) of the former lifting mechanism and with a shaft (10) of the latter lifting mechanism for transferring force and/or torque. A pressure medium container is connected with the adjusting cylinder by a line. The latter lifting mechanism is driven by the adjusting cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving a chamber upper part of a chamber conveyor belt machine.
