PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing ring artifacts in a x-ray CT and a removing method thereof are provided to improve the accuracy of a cross section image by removing ring artifacts which are generated in the cross section image of an X-rays CT(Computed Tomography). CONSTITUTION: A sinogram consists of a plurality of projection data(S310). A plurality of projection data is obtained through an X-rays detector. The number of dominant pixel values is calculated from the sinogram according to the sensing device of an X-rays detector(S320). Whether the sensing device is a I-type defective device or not is determined(S330). A pixel value, which is obtained from the I-type defective device, is revised(S340). A sum curve error is calculated in the sinogram in which the pixel value of the I-type defective device is revised(S350). Whether the sensing device is a II-type defective device or not is determined(S360). A pixel value, which is obtained from the II-type defective device, is revised(S370).
