PURPOSE: A method for determining a mounting mode and a component mounting system are provided to improve a throughput of a component mounting device by omitting the standby of each heat unit to avoid interference between head units. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate transfer conveyor(20A) and a second substrate transfer conveyor(20B) are extended in an X direction. The first substrate transfer conveyor transfers a substrate(P1) in the X direction. A first component supply unit(24A) and a second component supply unit(24B) are arranged outside the substrate transfer conveyor. A first head unit(22A) and a second head unit(22B) withdraw components from a tape feeder(25) and mount the components on the substrate. The first head unit and the second head unit include absorption heads(23) which vertically move.
