PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a light emitting device is provided to have excellent light extraction efficiency by having a smaller incident angle on a light exit surface which is an upper side of a device. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting structure is formed on a substrate(10) and a sacrificial layer pattern(11). The light emitting structure includes a first conductive semiconductor layer(22), an active layer(23), and a second conductive semiconductor layer(24). A part of the sacrificial layer pattern is exposed. The sacrificial layer pattern exposed is selectively eliminated and a groove is formed between the light emitting structure and the substrate. The groove is wet-etched to form an inclined plane which faces toward an inner side as getting closer to the substrate in a side of the light emitting structure.
