A vacuum cleaner includes a fan motor (60) generating air current, a main body (1) receiving the fan motor (60), wheels (3,9) allowing the main body (1) to smoothly move, a flexible connecting hose (4) extending from the main body (1), an expandable extending tube (6) connected to the connecting hose, a suction nozzle (8) connected to an end of the extending tube (6) to suck outer air, an inner sound absorption member (72) disposed around the fan motor (60) to absorb noise generated by the fan motor (60), a casing (74) disposed around the inner sound absorption member (72) to enclose the fan motor (60), the casing (74) being provided with an air hole (74') through which the air is exhausted in a side direction of the fan motor, and an outer sound absorption member (76) disposed around the casing (74) to absorb the noise generated by the fan motor (60).
