PURPOSE: A composition containing hemp seed extract is provided to ensure bioaffinity with less side effect and toxicity and to prevent or treat diabetes and obesity. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes and obesity contains hemp seed extract as an active ingredient. A neutraceutical composition for preventing or relieving diabetes and obesity contains the hemp seed extract as an active ingredient. The extract is isolated using water, organic solvent, or mixture thereof. The extract is a hexane extract. The hexane extract is purified by fractioning with other organic solvent and performing chromatography.
