PURPOSE: A cooling system and a method for an emergency power generator with a middle speed is provided to prevent environmental pollution by mixing fresh seawater supplied from a seawater supply pump and high-temperature seawater discharged from a seawater drain path. CONSTITUTION: A cooling system and a method for an emergency power generator with a middle speed comprises a middle-speed engine(10), a circulation pipe(21), a pure water cooler(20) and a seawater supply pump(30). The medium speed engine is installed in a vessel. The circulation pipe forms in a closed circuit circulating from the inside middle-speed engine to the outside. The pure water circulates inside the circulation pipe. The circulation pipe is connected to inside the pure water cooler and the pure water circulates the pure water. The seawater pump supplies the fresh seawater to the pure water cooler by inhaling the seawater from a sea chest on the vessel. The cooling system cools the high-temperature pure water which cools the middle-speed engine by using the fresh seawater.
