PURPOSE: A waveguide structure and a wavelength converting package are provided to control the cross sectional area of a waveguide, thereby maximizing wavelength conversion efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A waveguide structure(10) comprises a waveguide(100) and a guide part(200). The waveguide converts the wavelength of light by being arranged with a non-linear material which has periodically reversed polarity. The guide part is arranged along a light propagation direction and covers a part of the outer circumferential surface of the waveguide. The outer circumferential surface of the waveguide is partitioned into three part surfaces. The guide unit covers one or more surfaces among the three part surfaces.
