PURPOSE: A method for detecting beta-amyloid using amino acid dimers is provided to ensure easy synthesis and storage and to study Alzheimer's disease. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting beta-amyloid comprises an immunological analysis using antigen-antibody reaction. The immunological analysis includes ELISA(Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay) or western blot. The amino acid dimer includes Ala-Arg, Arg-Ile, Arg-Leu, Arg-Met, Arg-Thr, Trp-Arg, Val-Arg, Cys-Ser, Thr-Cys, Tyr-Tyr or Val-Val. The amino acid dimer is conjugated with a labeling material, biotin.
