PURPOSE: An apparatus for locking goods with a self-hold function and a driving method thereof are provided to freely rotate goods at a current position where the goods stop to accurately process by preventing a locking arm from being pressed at the lower part of the goods. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for locking goods with a self-hold function comprises a fixing part(100), a rotating body(300), a locking arm(400), a buffering cylinder(500), and a stop lock part. The fixing part comprises a base(110) and a driving cylinder. The base is installed in the lower part of a conveyor system. The driving cylinder is fixed in one upper side of the base. The rotating body is hinge-coupled to one upper side of the fixing part. The locking arm is shaft-coupled to one side of the rotating body to be rotated. The buffering cylinder controls the rotation of the locking arm. The stop lock part controls a buffering cylinder rod of the buffering cylinder.
