675,703. Electric selectors. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 12, 1951 [Jan. 17, 1950], No. 958/51. Class 40 (iv). A code-bar switch comprises a set of parallel code-bars, one of a set of selection levers arranged perpendicularly to the code bars being pivoted when a particular combination of code bars corresponding therewith is set up by displacing some of the code bars. A set of 32 selection levers such as 39 are arranged at right-angles to five code bars 8-12. Each lever comprises two parts 40, 41 joined by bridge-pieces 42, 43. The code-bars 8-12 are positioned to right or left by electromagnets so that, for each combination of magnets energized, one lever 39 is selected by the coincidence of notches 13 under the flange 54 of the lever 39, which then rocks downwards about the. part 40. Projections 46, 47 on the selection lever then operate the selected contacts. |
