<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ring compressor that can be employed to remove liquid from a wet gas and/or to compress a wet gas. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ring compressor 22 includes a shaft 64, a body inner casing 62 disposed about the shaft 64 to form a chamber 72 between the shaft 64 and the body inner casing, and an inlet 42 configured to remove a portion of the liquid from the wet gas and to direct the wet gas into the chamber 72. The liquid ring compressor 22 also includes an impeller 66 rotatably disposed within the chamber 72 and configured to direct a remaining portion of the liquid in the wet gas out towards the body inner casing 62 to form a liquid ring within the chamber to compress the wet gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
