<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately generate an image of document data on an output result while improving the convenience of a user. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, attribute information indicating an attribute of the image forming device corresponding to document data is analyzed to determine whether or not attribute information on an attribute not corresponding to the image forming apparatus is included. When it is determined that the attribute not corresponding to the image forming apparatus is not included, default attribute information stored in a storage device used for generating an image in the image forming apparatus is updated with the attribute information corresponding to the document data.
