<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is easy to recognize that erroneous attachment is performed and capable of suppressing deformation of an apparatus main body and a process cartridge, while suppressing the increase of the size of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an attachable and detachable process cartridge 7 and an attachment part 101 to which the process cartridge 7 is attached, and the process cartridge 7 includes an identification notch 73 having an intrinsic identification shape for each kind of the process cartridge 7. In the image forming apparatus, the attachment part 101 includes identification energizing means (an identification part 16 and a compression spring 17) energizing the process cartridge 7 in a direction opposite to the attachment direction and the identification energizing means includes the intrinsic identification part 16 corresponding to the identification notch 73. When the kind of the attached process cartridge 7 is proper, the identification part 16 does not interfere with the identification notch 73. When the kind of the attached process cartridge 7 is not proper, the identification part 16 comes into contact with the identification notch 73, to energize the process cartridge 7 in the direction opposite to the attachment direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
