To provide a vehicle status notification device and a vehicle status notification method of a construction machine with which it is possible for an operator to know promptly that an engine shut-off switch is in the off state, a vehicle status notification device of a construction machine comprises: a key switch (SW1) which is connected to a battery (10); an engine shut-off switch (SW2) which is serially connected downstream from the key switch (SW1) between the battery (10) and a connection line of an engine controller (CB) which controls an operation of an engine; and a control unit (C1) which carries out a control which notifies a notification unit that the engine shut-off switch (S2) is in the off state when an upstream signal of the engine shut-off switch (SW2) is in the on state and a downstream signal of the engine shut-off switch (SW2) is in the off state.
