<p>An extract of fermented Hirsutella sinensis powder can be completely dissolved in water or alcohol, and it presents the advantages of lower heavy metals content than international food hygiene standard, no pesticide residue, no culture media residue, no easy oxidation, long keeping time, and so on. The extract has significant resistance to renal failure, and can be used for preventing and treating renal failure. The extract of 0.2-1.0 g/Kg dose can reduce SCr and BUN content in mice with renal failure, improve nephridial tissue degeneration induced by gentamycin, inverse renal tubular epithelial cells proliferation inhibition induced by aristolochic acid, and reduce mRNA expressions of renal failure key factor (TGFß1, TIMP-1, PAI-1, ET).
