Illumination device for lighting in urban centres, parks, etc. having a lateral supporting arm, supporting column or being of any other type, and provided with means for attaching it to the installation point, with an illumination head (9) with an upper cover (1), and a diffuser (5) for each side face, the base being covered by a plate (8), there being lighting equipment (2, 3) along with a supporting plate (4) and the cover (6) of the lighting equipment (2, 3) inside the closed interior of the head (9), in which the plate (8) has at least one channel (11), upon which is placed an element (7) with a plurality of orifices (10) of different diameter, the supporting plate (4) having a series of orifices, and in which the cover (1) has a protected ventilation system (12).
