<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of ensuring ventilation amount while protecting a filter. <P>SOLUTION: Atmosphere outside an outer cylinder 3 is introduced from an atmosphere introducing hole 35 into an atmosphere circulating groove 97 (an arrow A), flows along the atmosphere circulating groove 97, and reaches an atmosphere circulating hole 98 (an arrow B). Furthermore, the atmosphere passes through a filter 8, flows along an atmosphere circulating groove 96, and flows into a ventilation groove 26 of a separator 2 (an arrow C). The atmosphere passes through a clearance between a lead wire hole 24 and a lead wire 18 of the separator 2, and flows into a storage portion 23 (an arrow D).
