<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of an external circuit of a display panel, and to reduce power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A display device is provided with a holding circuit 110 for holding a digital video signal from a drain signal line 61 in response to a signal inputted from a gate signal line 51. The display device is also provided with a signal selection circuit 120 for selecting one of two signals (signals A and B) according to a signal from the holding circuit 110 so as to supply the selected signal to a pixel electrode 80. A reference voltage generation circuit 500 for generating the signals A and B is provided within a display panel 100. In the digital display mode, there is no need to supply these signals A and B from outside since the signal to be applied to the display pixel 80 is generated by the reference voltage generation circuit 500. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
