<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator capable of efficiently removing frost stuck to a plate fin at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The evaporator 1 includes a plurality of plate fins, a heat exchanging pipe 4 including a plurality of straight pipes 5 attached to the plate fins 2 in a penetrating manner and bent pipes 6 and 7 to connect two adjacent straight pipes 5, and a defrosting pipe heater 8 including a plurality of straight pipes 9 in contact with the plate fins 2 and bent pipes 11 and 12 to connect two adjacent straight pipes 9. The defrosting pipe heater 8 includes a heater wire, a pipe for housing the heater wire, and a power supply lead wire 23 connected to both ends of the heater wire. A heat generation density being the amount of heat generated per unit area of the outer peripheral surface of the pipe in the defrosting pipe heater 8, is set higher than that in parts close to both ends in the longitudinal intermediate part of the defrosting pipe heater 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
