<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which stably holds a lens and a substrate with the smaller number of components compared to a conventional light emitting device, reduces the size and the weight, and suppresses variations in quality when multiple light emitting devices are produced. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device 10 includes a substrate 14 in which a light emitting element 12 is mounted, a case 22 in which the substrate 14 is disposed therein, and a cover part 24 attached to the case 22. The cover part 24 is disposed in the case 22 with protrusions 68a, 68b, which are respectively included in protruding parts 62a, 62b of a cover part body 60 in which a lens 66 is formed, pressed against a mounted surface 16 of the substrate 14. At that time, attachment claws 70a, 70b, 70c, and 70d of the cover part 24 engage with attachment holes 52a, 52b, 52c, and 52d of the case 22, respectively.
