<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a tire using a tread joint pressure bonding method of a low cover usable online capable of obtaining stable quality and excellent in work efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the tire manufacturing method having a feed-in process for feeding the low cover which is sent in a horizontally placed state from the feed conveyor of a manufacturing line into a pressure bonding area, a centering process for performing the centering of the low cover, a joint detection process for detecting the joint of the tread of the low cover by rotating the low cover subjected to centering by a rotary means, a joint positioning process for fixing the joint at a predetermined position to perform the positioning of the joint, and a pressure bonding process for pressing the joint at the predetermined position by a pressure roller to bond the joint under pressure.
