<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device whose transmissivity can be increased. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device 100, a pixel electrode Px and a common electrode CT are laminated through an insulating layer, a slit SL is formed in at least one of the pixel electrode Px and the common electrode CT, and liquid crystal molecules are oriented due to electric fields generated by the pixel electrode Px and the common electrode CT.
