摘要 Provided is an inexpensive, lightweight fuel cell separator having excellent long-term durability and an electrical conductivity equivalent to that of a precious metal plating film, with an aluminum alloy material being used as the separator substrate. Also provided is a method for producing the separator. This fuel cell separator comprises: an aluminum alloy separator substrate provided on the surface thereof with a second-phase compound having a height of 0.5-10 µm and present in an amount of at least 5,000 particles per unit area (mm2); and an electroconductive layer formed by coating and bonding under heat and pressure the surface of the separator substrate with an electroconductive coating material for which the mass ratio of graphite powder or other carbon-based material and a binder resin falls within a predetermined range. The second phase compound is electrically connected to the graphite powder in the electroconductive layer.
